Tall black armor-style 3D printed part on the bed of a large-format printer

Print It Big, in One Piece

Most desktop 3D printers can only build parts a few hundred millimeters across. Anything bigger has to be cut into pieces, printed separately, and joined back together, which means seams, extra assembly, and a part that is only as good as its joints.

Extrusionary Designs runs large-format FDM printers in Spokane. Our Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga builds parts up to 800 × 800 × 1000 mm, about 31 × 31 × 39 inches, and our Creality Ender 5+ builds up to 350 × 350 × 400 mm.

That makes automotive parts, oversized props, and other big builds practical to print as a single piece. Our 3D printing services in Spokane cover the full range of materials and project types. No file? Our CAD design services can build one, and if all you have is the original part, 3D scanning in Spokane can capture it first.

Our Equipment

Large-Format Printers and Build Volumes

These are the machines we use for big builds, with their maximum build volumes.

Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga ("The Annoying Orange")

800 × 800 × 1000 mm (about 31 × 31 × 39 in): our largest printer, for oversized parts, automotive components, and large props

Creality Ender 5+ ("Hulk")

350 × 350 × 400 mm (about 14 × 14 × 16 in): a large-format FDM workhorse with a direct drive upgrade

Not sure whether your part fits? Send us the dimensions with your quote request and we'll confirm which machine it belongs on.

What It's For

What Large-Format Printing Makes Possible

A bigger build volume changes what is worth printing at all.

Automotive parts

Large trim, covers, housings, and other parts that would otherwise have to be split, printed in materials chosen for heat, UV, and load.

Oversized props and costume pieces

Full-scale props, armor, and display pieces printed in one piece, with less seam work before finishing.

Enclosures and housings

One-piece covers and housings for equipment that is larger than a standard print bed.

Parts bigger than any one print

Very large parts designed in sections with alignment features, then joined and finished.

The Process

How a Large Print Gets Made

01
Send us the size and the job

Use the quote form to give us the overall dimensions and tell us what the part has to do. No file? We can design or scan one.

02
We confirm the machine and material

We check which printer your part fits on and recommend a material for where it will live and what it has to handle. If it is too big for one print, we plan how to split it.

03
We print and check

Your part goes onto the build plate and we monitor the print and check the result before it leaves the studio.

04
Pick up or receive your part

Collect it in person in Spokane or have it shipped anywhere in the US.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How large can you 3D print?

Our largest printer, an Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga, has an 800 × 800 × 1000 mm build volume, which is about 31 × 31 × 39 inches. Our Creality Ender 5+ prints up to 350 × 350 × 400 mm. Send us your dimensions and we'll confirm which machine your part belongs on.

What if my part is bigger than your largest printer?

Oversized parts can be designed in sections with alignment features so they join cleanly, then assembled and finished. We do this for large props, which are modeled to print in sections with registration points. Tell us the overall size and we'll advise on the best way to split it.

What can large-format 3D printing be used for?

A large build volume lets us print big parts in one piece instead of joining many small ones: automotive parts, oversized props and costume pieces, display pieces, and large enclosures or housings. Fewer seams generally means less assembly work and a cleaner finished part.

Can you print automotive parts?

Yes. The Giga's size suits large automotive components. We offer materials suited to heat, UV, and load, including ABS, ASA, and PA-CF, but which one fits, and whether it suits a very large part, depends on the application, so describe where the part will live and what it has to do with your quote request. If you only have the original part, we can 3D scan it first.

How do I request a quote for a large print?

Use the quote form and include the overall dimensions, or a file or photos of the part, along with what it needs to do. We'll confirm which machine it fits on, recommend a material, and come back with a quote. You can collect it locally in Spokane or have it shipped anywhere in the US.
